Under The Sea Birthday Party

I am very excited to share the pictures of Romain's Under the Sea Birthday Party today!!!
I hope you are ready to start the week with a ton of pictures :))

I would like to say a huge thank you to Holly from Mimi's Dollhouse for her beautiful Under the Sea printables and for creating some new items just as I envisioned them :) Holly is such a talented designer and it was real pleasure to work with her again (In case you missed it she also designed all the printables for Romain's fireman Party last year).

I would also like to thank Party City for sending me all the pretty party supplies, candies and favors. The decorations looked amazing on the day and matched my color schemed perfectly :)

Enjoy the pictures !

The inspiration for the cake came from this design
by the amazingly talented Vanessa Iti from Bella Cupcakes

I used a lot of sand for this table ! I really wanted it to look like we were at the bottom of the ocean...
I chose a gold paper tablecloth from Party City and glued sand on it using a spray.
So the vertical part at the front of my dessert table was sand too !

Romain adores the octopus from the printables, it's his favorite character ! So it was
an obvious choice to have this little guy sitting on top of the birthday cake :)

I found those fun Fish Candies at Party City and the were perfect from my reef !!!
The reef was a Goodwill find… Supposedly a garden decoration. It was white so I spray painted it red.

Sweet little Octopus cake pops (yummy chocolate cake pops)

Guylian Chocolates, always in the shape of shells, were quite easy to find in the UK…
not so much here in the US, so I was pretty excited to find them one day
at Homegoods ! What a perfect fit for this theme.

I will be posting more details about the little animal jars favors soon, so stay tuned :)

You can read all about the favor buckets (and what's inside them) in this previous post.

While the dessert table was Under the Sea, I also wanted the children to have fun at the beach so the kids table had beach towels for place mats, sand bucket cupcakes and buckets full of treats !
We even had a sandcastle centerpiece !!!

I made the permanent sandcastle centerpiece using this tutorial.

You can find instructions on how to make the Birthday Hat here.

Holly from Mimi's Dollhouse create the sandbucket cupcake wrappers
and beach towels placemats especially and they turned out fantastic.

Our Photo Booth was so much fun, I just love all those cute pictures :)
Found out how I created it here.

Happy Birthday to my sweet Little Boy :)

Because of the wind on the day of the party, I wasn't able to hung all the cute Sea Animal
garlands I had prepared… I did however found another use for them: they made the sweetest
strings to attach the balloons !!!

For games, the children played with this fun Starfish ring toss game which fitted our theme perfectly.
We also had a more traditional Fishing Game.
And the greatest activity of all was a spectacular water balloon fight in our front yard, with the children obviously aiming for their parents !!! We all finished drenched but we had the best time :)

  4. Hi Sindhu. So sorry it's taken me a while to reply but I was moving and only got internet this week! The backdrop is wrapping paper! I got lucky and find a roll that matched my theme perfectly at Homegoods...! I hope this helps.
