{Craft} Ballerina frame

The year is just beginning but my daughter already decided on her (september !) birthday theme a while ago: Ballerina it is and she wants it pink, pink, pink !!!!
So I have started gathering ideas. What I thought was going to be an easy theme is not so easy after all, how to work with just one colour without it being dull ??? I might have to bring in another colour (orange maybe) to make it more interesting but don't worry, there will be more on that soon, once I have made my mind up.

Because I have two summer birthdays to plan, I usually try and start early, like now. A bit crazy I know, but this way I get time to do most of the decorations myself.

So here is the first one. A simple ballerina frame.
I bought a basic square art canvas from the pound shop and added cutout designs in pretty papers.
I used my Silhouette to cut out my daughter's name (font is Loyal Fame) and a template for the ballet shoes (the silhouette can't cut glittery paper apparently, it risks damaging the blade...). I then used the template to cut out the ballet shoes in the pink glittery paper.
And I just finish it with a pink polka dot ribbon all around the frame.

  1. I love it! It's simple, but elegant. I start planning way in advance too. It makes me less stressed and the party more enjoyable. I'm following. Stop by www.thenymelrosefamily.blogspot.com and check me out. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Thank you !
I'll go an stop by now !

  3. I love this idea. Where did you find the template for the ballet slippers?

  4. Hi, the templates are from the Silhouette store.
