{Product Review} Moo Business Cards

When MOO contacted me a few weeks ago to try their business cards, I was pretty excited because I have been wanting business cards for ages but I never actually got round to ordering some... So this opportunity was the perfect excuse to finally make this project happen !

The first step was of course to come up with a design. There are plenty of pretty nice designs already on the MOO website but I really wanted something more personal, unique to That Cute Little Cake.
After playing for a little while in Photoshop, I came up with this:

What do you think ???

To show off some of my work I wanted to have a double sided card, logo on one side and a picture on the back.
Well, one thing really fantastic about MOO is their Printfinity option. It allows you to have a different picture on each card (up to 50 different pictures). How cool is that ?
And there isn't even an extra cost for the option...

The downloading of the design and pictures onto their website was fairly straightforward and the ordering process was quick and clear.
I received the cards less than a week after placing the order, days before the expected delivery date, so a bonus.

I have to say, I am really impressed with the cards. I chose the matt standard finish and they are beautiful. The cardstock used is thick and the finish is really soft to the touch.
I honestly only get compliments when giving them away!

The cards come in a handy little box. There are even dividers so you can collect cards at the same time as you give yours away.

And the reaction I get when I ask people to choose their card by picking the picture they prefer is the best!

I loved the product and if I had to order some cards again I would not hesitate to go back to MOO!

Disney Frozen Movie Night

Disney Frozen Party

This Disney Frozen party was so much fun and I really enjoyed designing it !
It was fantastic to have all the children watch a movie together, I can't wait to do it again :)

After enjoying pizza, the children were invited to pick up a tray and fill it with a drink and treats from the table (popcorn, snowflake cookies and Guacamole-chips kits) before settling in for the movie.
We later had ice cream during the film :)

It was really so sweet to see them all in their PJs or Frozen dress-up outfits, completely absorbed by the story on the screen !

I hope you will enjoy the pictures !

Thank you so much to my friend Benedicte for offering to do some face painting !

Here are some posts I wrote while preparing this party. You will find tutorials for the Embossed trays, the wreath, the snowflake pins, and also a shopping list of the party items I bought.

{Frozen Movie Night} Embossed Snack Trays

I wanted something practical for the kids to hold their drinks and snack during the movie. I figured some trays might control the damage to my living room !!! :)

These kraft food trays I found on Amazon are just perfect, small enough for children and with a pop-up part to hold drinks.

I used some snowflakes stamps I already had and some Large Alphabet Stamps from Oriental Trading to emboss the trays (and since the trays come flat packed, it was really easy to emboss the front).
If you would like to know how to do the embossing, then here is the tutorial

I used 3 different colors:
Opaque Bright white from Wow
Metallic Silver from Wow
Pearl Sapphire from Michael's own brand Recollections

{Craft} How to emboss

Embossing is such a fun craft! I don't actually use it to make cards but rather to embellish labels or paper party bag. The stamping gives a very unique and personal feel to the items and the embossing bring a touch of shimmer or gloss that looks amazing.

For the Disney Frozen movie night, I ordered some cardboard snack trays. I thought it would be easier for the children to hold all of their food items.
The trays are plain Kraft, so I needed something to make them pretty ! I have a box of snowflakes stamps so I immediately thought of embossing them with snowflakes. Unlike normal ink, the colour you get with embossing is solid, so it stands out well on the dark Kraft background.

I also got a large alphabet stamp set from Oriental Trading. The letters are quite big and just the right size for the side of the tray !

HOW TO EMBOSS

You don't need to invest a lot to start embossing ! The main tool required is a heat gun, which is sort of a straight hair drier, but the air blown is a lot hotter.

Then you need a little embossing kit:
- Embossing ink (it is a transparent ink that act as a "glue" for the powder)
- Embossing powder in the colour and aspect of your choice (they come in a wide range of colours, and aspects can be solid, metallic, glittery...)

And finally some stamps.

How to:

NOTE: You should work on top of a clean sheet of paper so as to make it easy to retrieve the left over powder.

1- Choose a stamp, ink it with the special embossing ink (use clean stamps if you don't want the ink to end up dirty like mine...) and stamp on the item to emboss.
2- Sprinkle embossing powder until the design is completely covered.
3- Tap the item so the excess powder falls down on your worksheet.
4- Heat using the heat gun until you see the powder melt. This only takes a few seconds. Make sure all parts of the design are melted.

Use the worksheet (folded in two works well) to pour the excess powder back in the container.

Enjoy the beautiful glossy result !

{Frozen Movie Night} Printables

As you know by now (!) I haven't used any licensed items for the Disney Frozen Movie Night. However, I did purchase two sets of printables to coordinate the whole theme:

2" Circle toppers from N's Little Shop
Which I used to embellish the straws

Frozen Water Bottle Labels from May Party Printables

Etsy is always my go to place for printables. There are now loads of printables available as instant downloads which makes it so easy to plan a party even at the last minute.

{Frozen Movie Night} Snowflakes Wreath DIY

I love having a door sign when I have a party, to put our little guests in the mood even before they knock on our door !
For this Disney Frozen movie night I really wanted a snowflakes wreath. The result is just what I had envisioned and it was so easy to do !

Supplies

Green wire wreath (spray painted gold)

The snowflakes are from Oriental Trading. I used two different packets:
- I had some left over Glitter snowflakes stickers from the Snowflake Clothespins project
- Blue and white assorted foam snowflakes

Glue gun

How to

Simply glue the foam snowflakes one by one to the wreath until the base is completely covered and the wiring does not show.
I added the glittered snowflakes last so they could be on top.

{Frozen Movie Night} Snowflakes Clothespins

We are getting pretty excited with the release of Disney Frozen here ! The girls really cannot wait to have all of their friends over for movie night :)

Apart from a couple of Frozen printables to decorate the straws and water bottles (more on that later !), I have not used any licensed products. Instead I chose to stick with my color scheme of white, silver and ice blue and used LOADS of snowflakes (I have a thing for snowflakes... aren't they the prettiest things ?).
I was so pleased when Oriental Trading contacted me a few weeks ago to try some of their products because they have a lot of snowflakes items on the website ! This was perfect timing.

Snowflakes Pins

Today I am sharing the easiest craft there is. You only need two things and not even glue is required !!!
I decided to make those cute snowflake pegs to shut and decorate the treat bags. I am going to be preparing guacamole and chips kits for the night and the chips will go in those small favor bags.

Supplies
Glitter snowflakes stickers (in silver and iridescent white)

How to
Simply peal off the back of the sticker and apply to the pins. Hold the snowflake tightly to the clothespin for a few seconds so that it sticks well.
Note: I chose not to remove the backing of the sticker completely. Instead I only removed the parts where it would touch the pin.

The glitter snowflake stickers were perfect for this project. I found them to be of excellent quality, thin but sturdy. And I should mention that the glitter does not come off as you handle them, which is a real plus!
